Like my SESA partner-in-crime, Sarah, whose hosting a fabulous Shabby Apple dress give-away on her blog, today I'm offering you a lovely piece of jewelry from Shabby Apple's online store. I heard rumblings about Shabby Apple in the blogosphere and I've spent many an hour oogling their dresses. You can even shop by body type!Dresses from Shabby Apple
I'm particularly smitten with this dress, Carousel:
A blue wrap dress, so elegant, so versatile. Sigh.
Ah! Gamine alert! Lovely stripes and an a-line skirt (with pockets!) that'll make it look like you've got Audrey Hepburn's teeny waist. If I wasn't on clothing ration, I just made be bankrupt. Anyhow, onto the exciting stuff: The jewelry.
I wanted to share some lovelies from their online store with you, finishing up with the giveaway piece.
Shabby Apple bracelets

Shabby Apple Rings (nothing like a cocktail ring to add pizazz to an outfit!):
There really is a range of styles, many of which will be lovely for the summer: Peach bracelets and turquoise necklaces and big, fat yellow rings. Plus a few basic pieces that are seasonless. For the giveaway, I selected this necklace, "Lost in Wonderland," retailing at $52 for one lucky reader.

There's something so romantic about this piece, so classically feminine and timeless. I hope you like it. Imagine it over a billowing sun dress at a summer picnic, or over a red cocktail dress at night. A statement piece that will serve you from season to season.
To win this green floral cameo necklace from Shabby Apple, please leave me a comment with your name and email address and answer the following question: How do you use jewelry in your wardrobe? I'm pretty basic: a pair of silver earrings and my silver ring, but I adore women who use jewelry to add personality to their outfits! Share your secrets with me! ;) Another way to answer this question: What's your favorite piece of jewelry and why?
The giveaway closes on the eve of the Summer Essentials Sew-Along: May 31st at 11:59 pm PST. Entries are limited to U.S. Addresses (sorry!). Winner will be selected by a random number generator.
Giveaway or no, if you've got a Shabby Apple yen, Shabby Apple has generously offered readers a 10% off coupon. Enter "wardrobereimagined10off" at checkout. Coupon will expire in a month.

Good luck!

Ali, what a gorgeous generous giveaway! I cannot resist! Jewellery for me is about colour & being different, showing a bit of personality. I have two faves, both necklaces I've made (already scoring unique points there). One is a simple piece of wire with turquoise fimo roses & blue crystals on it - & I love it because it means I can wear my fave turquoise shoes with all sorts of outfits you wouldn't normally think turquoise shoes would go with. The other is a pendant I made with a watch & fimo roses, pearls & crystals embellishing it in a kind of vintage style. If I had to chose one as a fave, it would be the watch-lace.

ReplyDeleteOh, that cameo is absolutely lovely! I had no idea Shabby Apple also had a jewelry line. It also pretty much gives my answer to the question - I use mostly Victorian/Edwardian or antique-inspired pieces in my wardrobe. I love the look and history of antique jewelry, which tends to have the same feminine, classic quality as my wardrobe. My cameo collection, especially, is both large and ridiculous, but I love them all! Nothing finishes an outfit like a cameo brooch or pendant.
ReplyDeleteLovely necklace! I really am inconsistent with jewelry, in part because I feel like I'm still trying to find what statement I'm trying to make with it. I have started to use more vintage costume jewelry of late, but I do tend to go for the simple, but assertive. Things that I do look for before putting something on is color and neckline. Earrings are so hard for me to be consistent with, so I don't think I have a technique with that.

How do I wear jewelry? Not enough! I love sparkely things but also girly lovelies like this cameo. My favorite jewelry pieces are a matching tanzanite bracelet and ring that my husband bought me. Tanzanite is my favorite stone! :) I don't wear them all that often because I'm terrified of loosing/breaking them!

Good question! I use jewelry as an accent when I have my jean and t-shirt days

The necklace is lovely! I also don't wear much jewelry, usually just silver hoops and a watch, but lately I'm loving vintage, colorful, beaded necklaces...
ReplyDeleteOh, I'd love to win, but I think this one is for US readers only, yes? What a great opportunity for them to win that gorgeous necklace!
ReplyDeleteI adore the Eiffel Tower dress!! It's a must-have on my list!
I pick my jewelry first and then the clothes to go with it. :) I'm so excited to know shabby apple has jewelry now!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sarah, for pointing that out. It didn't even dawn on me that there would be a shipping limitation, but your question piqued me to check with Shabby Apple and you're right: U.S. shipping only.
ReplyDeleteSincere apologies, folks! I didn't know. :|
Such a beautiful necklace. I'm a pretty simple person. I normally wear a simple necklace, with big earrings that have some bright colors.

That cameo is gorgeous! I do not yet own a cameo necklace. I wear a lot of different jewelry styles, although for everyday I am a pearl earrings and heart peandant from the boyfriend sort of girl. In summer I go a bit more crazy, because my jewelry isn't hidden under a scarf! I like chunky, funky and crazy colors. My favorite piece would probably be my neon fish earrings. They were my mom's, and even though one has a broken tail I still wear them!

Oh, that's lovely! What a great giveaway! I wear earring every day because my grandmother always insisted, and a lot of what I wear belonged to my grandmother when she was still alive, which is nice, it makes me feel close to her. When I lived in Moscow I discovered that this is really a Russian thing, Russian women wear earrings every day, to "feel like women". I still feel like a woman with my earrings off, for the record, but it's nice to know my grandmother's obsession had a cultural tie! She was a Russian immigrant!
ReplyDeleteI use jewelry to dress up simple outfits.

I wear the same two rings every day and usually a simple necklace. I do have a large collection of jewelry that I used to wear when I worked in a business-wear appropriate environment. I have just gotten lazy not wearing it to work now that I can wear jeans and casual tops.

I love wearing a single "statement" piece - like a bold necklace or bracelet - it spices up my plain wardrobe
ReplyDeleteadrianecoros(at)gmail(dot)com
Until recently, I didn't wear much jewelry. In the past year or so, however, I have tried to slowly amass a few nice pieces, and tend to gravitate toward necklaces. I don't have many earrings yet, but I seem to gravitate towards 'blues' when I do acquire a new set. I have turquoise pottery earrings and wire-wrapped blue glass earrings.

I at least wear a necklace everyday -- I feel naked if I'm not wearing a necklace! (weird, right??) I am trying to incorporate bracelets more -- I rarely wear them.

I love jewelry, and in the last year I've been making the shift to wearing all jewelry that has special meaning, is a gift, handmade, vintage, or from independent designers. It makes each piece special. I have a couple favorite necklaces, all gifts. My most favorite is a silver thistle charm my roommate bought me. I wear it as my default necklace when I don't have something else specific to my outfit. I also always wear bracelets, almost as a signature. Again, when I'm not wearing vintage Bakelite or other statement pieces, I wear a set of silver bangles my best friend brought me back from India.
